The Southern Education Foundation joined 200 national, state and local organizations in sending a letter to congressional leaders advocating for increased federal funding for full-service community schools. The letter also asks congressional leaders to include community schools as an allowable use of K-12 funding in future COVID-19 relief packages. According to the letter, community schools are an effective and evidence-based strategy for school improvement and can rapidly mobilize to provide students with social, emotional, physical and academic supports inside and outside of school.
