Issues that impact education directly and indirectly being debated in state legislatures and courts throughout the South are numerous. While some demonstrate great promise and others represent reversals of hard fought victories, all legislative issues stand to impact the next generation of young people and the adults who serve them in significant ways. We have curated a collection of statements that express our support or dissenting view on issues closest to our work and our recommendations for how they might be addressed with equity in mind. Additionally, we lift up our most recent op-eds that have been featured by news organizations regarding pressing education matters across the region and the nation. The common thread across these resources are the implications that each of them has on students’ lives and what may be gained by making the classroom a better place for students of color and those who are low-income.
