Looking Back, Looking Forward: What it will take to permanently close the K-12 digital divide builds on the two previous reports, Closing the Digital Divide in the Age of Distance Learning (which examined the extent of the situation) and How States and Districts Can Close the Digital Divide. It provides a more granular understanding of the digital divide for students amid distance learning and the pandemic, and offers a set of policy recommendations at the federal, state, and local levels to permanently close the digital divide.
