| The Foundation for the Mid South was created in 1989 by former Mississippi Governor William Winter and former CEO of Entergy Corporation Edwin Lupberger from Louisiana to capitalize on a growing spirit of regional cooperation between the three states. Since 1989, the Foundation has helped to attract more than $150 million in new resources for the Mid South and has awarded grants to more than 300 nonprofit organizations. |

| The Mississippi Forum on Children and Families provides community resource development through information, education, and training. The Forum is using education, research, and demonstration in the areas of early childhood education and care, child health, youth development, employment preparation and family support. The Forum has four primary objectives: establishment of quality programs; distribution of information; development of new leadership to support programs for children and families; and expansion of service provider networks. |

| Quitman County Development Organization, incorporated in 1977, utilizes a variety of programs and strategies to impact the personal, physical, social, political and economic development needs of poor residents of Quitman County and the Mississippi Delta Region. QCDO has developed housing, a mini-mall and a credit union; provides grants to churches for economic development projects; and engages in a variety of childcare social services programs. It also provides micro-enterprise development and financial services. |

Southern Echo is a leadership development, education and training organization working to develop new, grassroots leadership in the African American communities in Mississippi and the surrounding region through a comprehensive training and technical assistance program. |

| The Institute for Racial Reconciliation fosters reconciliation and civic renewal wherever people suffer as a result of discrimination or alienation. The Institute identifies and disseminates information on effective models of cooperation. It supports leadership and community development through outreach projects in partnerships spanning local communities, policy-makers, and education institutions. |
