Monica Flamini, is bringing her expertise to the SEF office in Atlanta, Georgia this summer where she is researching and preparing an equity analysis report on educational equity issues, and the part they may play in the upcoming gubernatorial races. Additionally, she is assisting SEF with the coordination of the Racial Equity Leadership Network, a fellowship aimed at shaping education equity through the district administrators across the South. Monica is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Georgia where she studies education policy. Her research thus far centers on the intersection of health and education policy, in addition to matters relating to equity and school segregation. Outside of school, Monica loves being with her family, walking her puppy, cooking new recipes, and going hiking.
