“This past spring, I completed my senior thesis on the impacts of community schools, specifically in low poverty areas, such as the Metro Atlanta area- which is relatively close to my placement site; Georgia Budget and Policy Institute. I choose this specific topic as a foundational understanding for the needs of low-income; poverty students, as one of the many solutions that can help these individuals. During my time at GBPI, my focus will be on developing research on wrap around supports that improve student achievement, school finance trends and other critical education policy issues that affect students in the state of Georgia.”
