Intercultural Development Research Association

Deanna Galer recently graduated from Goucher College of Baltimore, Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She will work this summer with the Intercultural Development Research Association in San Antonio, Texas to develop a set of web based resources for school districts on equity, community engagement and ways to improve schools climate. Prior to SELI, she was a Community Based Learning Intern, the Senate President for Goucher’s Student Government, the Governor of Michigan District’s Key Club International, a student leader for Civic Action and a 2015 Newman Civic Fellow.

“How eager I am to be down South this summer, lending support in what's being called the "summer of resistance." I am hoping to learn from the people of San Antonio in formal and informal ways. I am excited for my work with the Intercultural Development Research Association, which will focus on providing communities and school districts with information regarding civil rights and equity-related issues in schools. I am so grateful to IDRA and SEF for hosting me!”
