Apply to Host a 2017 SELI Fellow!
SELI has partnered with over 85 organizations focused on improving education equity from pre-K to college throughout the Southern region. Each year, we makes placements based on our selected students' interests, capacities, skills, and interests, and how these pair with the organizations offering the most substantive fellowship experiences.
To be considered for the opportunity, your organization must be a nonprofit or foundation located within the South and have a physical office location where a student can work over the 8 week period. Please review the 2017 SELI Student Learning Outcomes and submit by February 1, 2017 to Vanessa E. Meyer Program Director, Office of the President, a proposed work plan detailing the following:
What large and small education focused projects a fellow would specifically work on at your organization, what would their responsibilities include;
How would they work towards achieving the 2017 SELI Student Learning Outcomes; and
Who their supervisor would be during the summer.
SEF will provide each selected fellow a modest stipend based on their educational level and each student will work full-time for the placement site between May 29-July 21, 2017. Each fellow is required to attend an Orientation and Closing Meeting in Atlanta directly before and after these 8 weeks of field work, as well as complete small assignments during the summer.
For more information, please contact Vanessa E. Meyer, Program Director, Office of the President. Please note work plans must be received by February 1, 2017 to be considered for this opportunity.
