About the Speaker

Rebecca Kaye has served as the Chief of Staff for Oklahoma City Public Schools, a district serving a diverse student body of over 46,000 in Oklahoma's capital city, since January 2017. Previously, she spent nine years as the policy director for the Atlanta Public Schools in Atlanta, Georgia.

Prior to her urban district central office service, she began her career teaching middle school language arts and social studies in Atlanta, before embarking on her career in education policy. Her work experiences include the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), the Presidential Management Fellows program in the US Department of Education, and the Georgia Department of Education.

Kaye holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia, an M.P.A. from Georgia State University, and an Ed.S. in educational leadership from the University of West Georgia. She is currently a doctoral candidate in educational policy and leadership at Vanderbilt University. She and her husband Michael have two sons who will attend their neighborhood public school.
